Because of the health and safety restrictions in place at Croke Park, we are severely limited on what we can bring into the ground in terms of large flags and banners. We got confirmation directly from Croke Park that our giant surfer flag would not be allowed into the stadium. We would also love to be able to bring in flags to give out to people, however this too is deemed a health and safety issue. Because of these restrictions, we are asking all Mayo supporters to bring their own individual flag along to Croke Park on Saturday. Let’s turn the famous old stadium into a sea of green and red flags. The more flags that are there on the day, the better the spectacle of colour will be which will hopefully lift our team on the pitch. If you are reading this, please spread the word to your friends, family and neighbours. Tell them to bring a flag along and support the team. At the moment, there is a lot of confusion as to what you can and cannot bring into the ground. Flags with sticks are allowed. The only flags that are not allowed in are surfer ones, like Nephin Mor or flags that are greater than 5 feet X 3 feet which is the standard flag size.

An important piece of information for all fans heading to Croke Park on Saturday is the fact that Croke Park have tightened their rules about what you can bring into the stadium. Please only take what you have to, as Croke Park stewards will be carrying out searches as you enter the stadium. Please also take note of the bags rule, they will only let in bags that are smaller than an A4 piece of paper. The full list of rules is here: https://crokepark.ie/match-day/faq

Finally, safe travel to all fans attending the game and UP MAYO!

LET’S RAISE THE ROOF OF CROKE PARK ONCE AGAIN!

Following on from Mayo’s impressive win against Roscommon in the All Ireland Quarter Final replay, we will now play Kerry in the All Ireland Semi Final in Croke Park, on the 20th of August 2017 at 15:30pm. This match will be proceeded by the All Ireland Minor Semi Final between Cavan and Kerry. The throw in for the minor game is at 13:30pm. Tickets are now on sale from all usual outlets. Bring A Flag

Speaking of flags, we will be running a competition over on Twitter to win a custom made Mayo flag. The competition will run from Tuesday the 15th of August through to Friday the 18th of August 2017. All you will have to do to be in with a chance of winning the flag is answer a Mayo GAA related question and re-tweet the original question. A winner will be picked at random on Friday, 18/08/2017. If you enter the competition, you must be able to pick up the flag in Dublin on Sunday before the game. Good luck!

Statement – Club Plans – V Roscommon, (Replay), Croke Park, Dublin, 07/08/2017, @14:00pm.

Following on from our tense draw against Roscommon last Sunday in the All Ireland Quarter Final, we now move on to the replay on Bank Holiday Monday, 07/08/2017 in Croke Park at 14:00pm. Tickets are now on sale from all the usual outlets. A crowd of 35-40,000 is expected on Monday and we would encourage as many Mayo Supporters who can attend to go along to Croke Park and support this exceptional bunch of players. Mayo’s support was once again brilliant the last day out and if anything the lads deserve even more the next day. One thing that was noted the last day was the fact that there were visibly less flags around the stadium. This was probably down to the fact that Croke Park has introduced stricter security measures and therefore people were afraid to bring flags along. As far as we are aware, it is only large surfer flags that are banned from the stadium and that normal everyday hand waving flags are fine. From looking around the last day, there were only five Mayo flags on the Hill which is in stark contrast to the way it was last year. Don’t be afraid to bring your waving flags along, the stewards will let you take them in. A sea of flags will add to the colour and occasion when our lads take to the field the next day. Also, bring your voices, let’s shout and roar this team over the line.
