2018 Championship – All Ireland Senior Football Championship – Round Three Qualifier – Mayo V Kildare, St. Conleth’s Park, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Saturday 30/06/2018, 19:00pm. (Game Four).

Well, what a past few days that has been! Following lots of debate and arguments, Mayo will now play Kildare in their Round Three Qualifier in St Conleth’s Park, Newbridge, on Saturday the 30th of June 2018 at 19:00pm.

St Conleth’s Park is a small, but atmospheric ground and no doubt it will be rocking on Saturday evening. The capacity for this game has been set at 8,200. From our calculations, there will be roughly 6,000 Mayo supporters in the ground come throw in time on Saturday evening. Mayo have in or around 4,000 season tickets, add that in with the allocation of 1,500 going to the clubs and those who had already bought tickets for Croke Park, this will be more like a home game than an away game in terms of supporters on the terraces. We need to make this count. At the moment, Mayo have a hard-core support of about 10,000 -11,000, meaning there will be about 4,000 very disappointed supporters come throw in time.

The lucky 6,000 or so need to make as much noise and bring as much colour as possible. Kildare and their supporters will be well up for this game and as supporters we need to quieten the lily white roar come 7pm on Saturday evening. We’ll be gathering on the Dressing Room End Terrace. (Town End). If you wish to join in with the noise and colour, bring flags and banners to that terrace and let’s roar our lads to victory. Everyone is welcome to join in. Nephin Beg will be in attendance and we’ll display it before the game. Nephin Mor won’t be there as it is much too big for the terraces of Newbridge.

Finally, safe travel to everyone heading down to Newbridge. Please leave home for Newbridge in plenty of time as it is a notorious black spot for traffic on match days, add this in with the fact that there is a major horse racing event at The Curragh, traffic in the general Newbridge area will be a lot heavier than normal. Enjoy the game and UP MAYO!

2018 Championship – All Ireland Senior Football Championship – Round Two Qualifier – Mayo V Tipperary, Semple Stadium, Thurles, Saturday 23/06/2018, 17:00pm. (Game Three).

Following Mayo’s win over Limerick in Round One of the All Ireland Qualifiers, we have now been drawn to play against Tipperary in Round Two. The tie is scheduled for Saturday 23rd of June 2018 at Semple Stadium, Thurles. The throw in time is 5pm. Tickets are now on sale from all usual outlets. Season Ticket holders will cost 10 euro. If you are not a season ticket holder, the cost of entry is 15 euro for an adult and 5 euro for a child. Tickets sold are for unreserved seating in both stands. The two stands in Semple Stadium are known as the Old Stand, (Ardan O Coinneain) and the New Stand, (Ardan O Riain). The Old Stand contains the dressing rooms and is located at the same side of the ground as the Thurles Sarsfields Clubhouse. The New Stand is on the northern side of the stadium and is accessed via Castlemeadows. Please note that both terraces will not be open on the day of the game.

For this game we’ll be setting up shop in the New Stand, (Ardan O Riain), in sections 117 and 118. These sections are towards the Town End Terrace of the ground. We’ll have a number of flags to give out to supporters who wish to get involved. These flags must be returned after the game so that we can use them for subsequent games. We’ll also have the big surfer flag with us, however we may not use it in the stand as the pillars may get in the way. We’ll seek permission from the stewards to see if we can tie up the flag on the Town End Terrace for the duration of the game.

Finally, safe travel to everyone heading down to Thurles. Please leave home for Thurles in plenty of time as it is a notorious black spot for traffic on match days. Enjoy the game and UP MAYO!
