About Mayo Independent Supporters Club: M.I.S.C.
About: We are a small, independent and unofficial Mayo GAA Supporters Club founded in late 2016 by a small group of loyal Mayo GAA supporters. We are a privately funded, not for profit organisation. Our main aim is to improve the atmosphere and displays of colour at Mayo GAA home and away games.
Aim: Our aim is to improve the atmosphere at home and away Mayo GAA games by organising displays before the game starts. At home games, this will usually involve the waving of large flags at the front of the Bacon Factory End / Albany End at MacHale Park. While this is happening, a large overhead surfer flag will be passed from one side of the terrace to the other. For away games, a terrace / stand will be chosen in advance for the display to take place. (Notifications of the club’s plans will be posted here as well as on other social media outlets). Currently, the club is in possession of four large crowd surfer flags, three stick tifo flags as well as a number of display flags. We also own well in excess of 100 green and red Mayo flags that we can hand out in a certain area of the stadium to increase the sea of colour.
Ethos and Values: Our ethos and values are simple, to support Mayo teams through thick and thin both on and off the field of play, through the use of flags and banners. We aim to be positive ambassadors for our county and our teams when at home or on the road. We will not tolerate any thuggish or anti social behaviour from people who wish to get involved with the club. The club is built on one word and that is respect. Respect yourself, your team, the opposition and their supporters as well as the venues you are visiting.
How to get involved: We will never look for any donations from our fellow Mayo GAA Supporters to fund the club or it’s activities. The flags and banners are privately funded and owned by the club and are there for the use of all Mayo GAA supporters. All we ask from our fellow supporters is to get involved on the match day and help us out with the displays. (To get in touch, see the links below).
We are always open to new ideas as to how the atmosphere can be improved, as well as new flag ideas and designs, so don’t be afraid, get in contact with the details below:
